Lazer Star Lights sponsored drivers Corry Weller, Garrett George and Chad George took to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 13th and 14th rounds of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series on September 19-20. Extreme weather forced race officials to postpone Round 14, which will be rescheduled for Thursday, October 23rd preceding the final rounds of racing at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park.

Weller Racing

Corry Weller has had a challenging season in the Lucas Oil Pro 4 class, but the team turned a corner when they discovered a major mechanical issue leading up to the Las Vegas races. “We just found out, before this weekend, that my front differential hasn’t been working right for much of the season,” Corry said after the race weekend. “We sent it in and had it fixed, so this was really the first weekend I have had fully functional 4-wheel drive.”

Weller qualified 8th for Friday night’s race on a rough track, and ran as high as third place during the main event. With just a few laps to go something - either the track or another truck - sent Weller rolling, the delay knocking her back to a 6th place overall finish. The improved handling and regained power from the fixed front differential helped Corry earn her best finish of the season, and she’ll start on the pole for the Round 14 makeup at Elsinore.

Lazer Star Lights is a proud supporter of Corry Weller and Weller Racing. “I could never even dream of racing in the Pro 4 class without my sponsors,” Weller says. “I am one of the few racers here who is entirely sponsor funded, and in turn, I’m so very grateful for the support from these amazing companies that put their faith and time and money into my program.” Be sure to follow Corry Weller on Facebook, and learn more about Weller Racing on their website and Facebook page.

Funco Motorsports

Chad George once again led the way for Funco Motorsports in Las Vegas as he and his cousin Garrett continue to turn heads in the Pro Buggy class. Chad qualified first for Friday night’s race and put together a strong performance, winning by more than four seconds. The victory was the fifth of the year for Chad George, who holds an 81-point lead in the Pro Buggy standings. Garrett went on to finish 6th in the main event and sits in fourth place in the standings. Be sure to check out Funco Motorsports on Instagram and YouTube for more updates.
